Thursday Morning Theology Hangover

Some of you may have missed this feature last week. I dropped the ball on that one. But I have a good excuse! My brother got married! Plus he and his wonderful bride got me this awesome Batman mug you see pictured above. LOOK AT THAT AWESOMENESS!

Man, typing in all caps is super tacky. Don't do that. But I feel the awesomeness of that mug required it.

Anyway, so here we have my rambling on new comic books I bought yesterday. And a few from last Wednesday I quickly purchased before skipping town for the festivities. And even a few from Free Comic Book Day which was way back on May 3rd.

Let's get started!

Thursday Morning Theology Hangover

Go read Trillium!
I said the first time that I might not always have the opportunity on a Thursday morning to do this. And that clearly happened for the past several Thursdays. But I'm back! I've got a pot of coffee brewing and some good comic books to briefly talk about. I'll even play a little catch up with issues from the past few weeks that I haven't covered. Are you excited? Are you ready?

Angel of the Bat

Art by Damion Scott
Sometimes, for whatever reason, a creator is never quite able to implement a certain pitch, idea, or storyline. Since we live in the age of the Internet, though, these unproduced ideas can still float around in the aether and be discussed by interested parties (take, for example, Kevin Smith's script for the Superman Lives movie that was never made).

This occurs in all media, including graphic literature. Periodically, it involves proposed storylines with religious themes. You know, the kind of fodder ripe for Wednesday Theology. But, alas, these ideas never make it to the page. They can still be intriguing, though, and worth discussion.

Now, in the gaming and software industry, unreleased products forever stuck in development hell are referred to as vaporware. Software that only exists as a vapor, a whisper, a rumor. So maybe I will take to calling these instances of unproduced religiously thematic graphic literature storylines Wednesday Vaportheology.

Maybe.

MitchWords: Part Three

If I, my work, or Wednesday Theology ever become well known, I'll be sure to thank Gail Simone.

If you don't know who Gail Simone is (shame on you), she's the current writer of Batgirl. Her previous work in comics notably include Birds of Prey, Secret Six, and a rather enjoyable run on Deadpool, just to name a few. Essentially, she writes some pretty awesome comic books. She's also a very good sport about interacting with her fans through social media. I can personally testify to this.

What's Our Dialysis?

What I'm asking is, if what we do, the fact that we don't live right, if that's evil, like heaven and hell evil...
...or if something's just missing. Something everyone else has. What's our dialysis? What's the treatment?
